WebAtmospheric rivers (ARs) are narrow and elongated pathways of anomalously strong horizontal water vapor transport in the lower portions of the atmosphere. They are found over most major ocean basins and are generally visible in integrated water vapor imagery poleward of the tropics. WebI successfully completed my M.S. in Atmospheric Science (Summer 2014) at Colorado State University co-advised by Drs. Sonia Kreidenweis and Russ Schumacher. My M.S. thesis focused on exploring the effect of latent heating to the development of a mesoscale vortex observed during the September 2013 Colorado extreme precipitation and flooding event.
